Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Arctis Nova 5X if you want one wireless gaming headset to move among Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, and mobile devices.
The compact USB-C dongle provides the platform connection, while Bluetooth and 2.4GHz can be toggled from the headset.
It also suits players who want game-focused audio presets without configuring every setting themselves.
The companion app offers more than 100 presets, and the battery is rated for 60 hours with a short USB-C charge adding six hours of use in 15 minutes.
Who should skip it
Skip this headset if active noise cancellation is a must-have; that feature is not part of its stated design. The same applies if you specifically want a spare battery system for continuous play without charging breaks.
If most of your use is outdoor calling, make microphone performance in wind a deciding check.
The retractable ClearCast microphone is a practical design feature, but its presence alone does not answer how it will sound in those conditions.
Arctis Nova 5X Review Analysis
Wireless modes for gaming and everyday audio
The headset's quick-switch button is useful when gaming over 2.4GHz and then moving to Bluetooth for a call or media.
Incoming-call beeps and on-ear controls reinforce the pick-up-and-switch approach, although buyers should consider whether that workflow fits how they use their devices.
Battery and charging for longer sessions
A 60-hour battery reduces how often charging needs to interrupt use, while the fast-charge option is useful when a full recharge is inconvenient.
The six-hour boost from a 15-minute USB-C charge gives a concrete fallback for a low-battery moment, though charging habits still matter for players who use a headset daily.
Presets and the retractable microphone
The app's game presets suit players who like purpose-built starting points for different titles.
The retractable mic can be tucked away between conversations, and the headset controls cover mute and volume; for regular voice chat, buyers should still consider their own priorities around microphone use.

Read Amazon ReviewsSteelSeries Arctis Nova 3P Wireless
Consider the Nova 3P if its mobile app controls, larger preset count, and fast-charge option fit your priorities.
The Nova 5X offers a longer stated battery capacity and lists Xbox among its supported platforms, which may make it a better match for Xbox owners who want longer intervals between charges.
- The Nova 3P has mobile app control, 200+ game presets, and up to 40 hours of battery life, with fast charging rated at up to nine hours of playback from 15 minutes.
- The Nova 5X offers 60 hours of battery life and platform support that includes Xbox, Meta Quest, and mobile devices.
Is Arctis Nova 5X Worth It?
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5X is worth considering for multi-platform players who want wireless flexibility, a long 60-hour battery, and app presets for games.
The retractable microphone, quick-switch control, and USB-C fast charge make its feature set practical for gaming that shares time with calls and media.
It is less suited to buyers who require active noise cancellation or a swappable battery arrangement, and frequent outdoor callers should consider whether its microphone meets their needs in wind.
If those tradeoffs are acceptable, its combination of platform reach, app presets, and long battery capacity makes it a compelling headset for a mixed gaming setup.
